YORK THEATRE ROYAL
We had an extremely helpful meeting with Juliet Forster, the Creative Director of the York Theatre Royal, about our next show The Big Switcheroo. We did a very small, script-in-hand tour of this piece last year under the title of Say Again? Now, under the umbrella of the YTR, we’re going to start in its studio on May 22nd 2025 and take it from there. Can’t wait. Huge thanks to the Juliet and the YTR for their tremendous support. WORKSHOP
Workshop for Say Again? We gave this play an outing last year. It has a unique premise and we wanted to see how it fared in front of live audiences. It worked way beyond our expectations, but we still felt there was more to be found. I gave the script another lick and a spit, and we all decided the piece needed a director’s eye, Paul Birch’s eye to be precise. It was a joy having him on board. He found so much more comedy and, equally, so much more depth to the play. Cal, David/Dominic and Tom were superb… Read more

THE SWALLOW THEATRE
Delighted to be putting this on at The Swallow Theatre – Scotland’s smallest theatre. What it may lack in size is more than made up for by the extra-large welcome from its audience and its owners. So this one would be…”a remote house with, unusually, a small theatre attached to it…oh, a bit like this one.” Read more

MOURNE PARK
Was recently in Northern Ireland visiting the ruins of Mourne Park where my grandfather grew up. It’s still a beautiful and haunting place despite the sad state of the house itself due to a fire in 2013. And thinking of haunting, my cousin suggested bringing the show over. She has put us in touch with a number of venues that might be interested. Brilliant. If we can pull this off, it would be very special. Read more

THIRSK HALL
Last spring, we were asked by if we could do something on Halloween at Thirsk Hall, 2023. With its own sculpture park, it’s a stunning venue and the house has its own ghost history — the perfect setting. And so The Room Upstairs was born. The title was the easy bit, coming up with a story less so. I faffed about over the summer getting nowhere until Cal put me out of my misery with a deadline. She then threw in the idea of singing which added a wonderful dimension to the piece. With these elements in place, it all… Read more

IMAGE
We spent a lovely afternoon taking photgraphs for the website and settled on this as our main background image. We wanted to convey that we specialise in small scale performance and country house tours and we hope this picture somehow captured that. We also took some great footage to make the trailer for The Room Upstairs. We have a temporary trailer up at the moment, look out for the new one designed by Florrie! Read more
